With all the buz around Web 2.0, I’m encountering  little written on its impact for management practices in education. A quick flick through some of the more likely candidates in my blog roll also reinforced this perception. Silence on ICT management practices generally. Jake Among the treats at last weekends Blue Mts Folk festival was Jake Shimabukuro. The MC introduced him as a YouTube Baby- (is that now the Y in Gen Y?). When talking to the presenter after the show he mentioned how Jake was genuinely intrigued by the number of ppeople who actually came to watch in person. Call me a baby boomer -but I just can’t get the same vibe sitting in from of a computer in a lonely study at home.

Interesting to see the changes in my daughters primary school with the introduction of IWBs in every classroom.  Her teacher seems to have undergone (as the principal) described it – a rebirth in terms of teaching. Alice comes home and babbles on about the new things which they tried on the boards. Yep- ‘they’- as in real collaborative learning. (more…)
