Participating in the INformation economy

After having all my computer gear knocked out in a recent electrical storm- I’m still workng through renewing and networking my home systems. Only a few years back we were all satisfied to have a stand alone computer with a 512 internet link. Now its forget the lawns- and “why don’t you cleanup the computers”-on any week(end).  What is the price we pay to maintain the sort of systems needed to keep on the info highway and for our kids to keep face with their peers.

One Response to Participating in the INformation economy

Not sure what the price is Tim, but it’s a big one for some houselholds both in time and money. Our home network is a combination of hand me downs with a little bit of newer stuff and we are having one of those cleanup the computer weekends this weekend (with the drought in SA we can’t really say we have a lawn anymore anyway) 🙂
